DEAD MIAMI is a first-person zombie shooter for one to four players, set on Ocean Drive rebuilt from the real street. You fight through one night, from the beach at golden hour to a hurricane rooftop, past five bosses who own the strip.

Each level picks up where the last one ended, an hour or two later and a little darker.

Level 1 Golden hour

Ocean Drive

The beach where it started. Lummus Park, the serpentine path, the dune line and the hotels, all on their real footprints. The dead are still in their swimsuits.

Level 2 Dusk

The Hotel Victor

From the rooftop pool down a corridor of open rooms, through working elevators, to a double-height lobby and the bar lounge. The guests never checked out.

Level 3 Late dusk

Miami Beach Marina

Four piers, sixty boats, two superyachts and the skyline across the bay. Some of the dock boards won't hold you. Fall in and you're hauled out; they drown.

Level 4 Night

The Neon Strip

Level 5 The storm

The Tides

Eleven storeys up in a Category 5. The power is out, the rain is sideways, and the helipad on the roof is the only way off the strip.

Two SEALs and everything they could carry

The host plays the salt-and-pepper operator; whoever joins plays his blond teammate. Strict first person: look down and you see your own legs and boots. Every gun is a real one, at its real size, capacity and rate of fire, and you carry all of them from the start.

Play together

Single player

Pick any of the five levels and go alone.

Co-op

Up to four survivors. Grabbed teammates can be shot free; downed ones revived. Bosses grow with the party.

Head-to-head

Survivor against survivor on Ocean Drive, with the dead after both of you.

Join a game

  1. On your own network, choose Co-op, then Join a game. Hosts nearby show up by themselves.
  2. Over the internet, choose Address and type play.deadmiami.com.
  3. Pick your survivor and hold the line.
